“A Digital Single Market for SMEs” – Roundtable in the European Parliament for small online businesses

Andreas Schwab MEP and Catherine Stihler MEP

are hosting a high-level roundtable discussion with European small online businesses

“A Digital Single Market for SMEs”

Tuesday 13 October 2015, 13:00 – 14:30

Room PHS1C047 in the European Parliament

As part of a SMEs & DSM action day, the European Small Business Alliance, seller coalition Choice in eCommerce, and eBay have invited eight small online sellers from different EU Member States (Germany, Italy, France, UK, Spain, Estonia, Portugal, Lithuania) to Brussels for an exchange of views with EU policy makers on Digital Single Market priorities.

All of the attending SMEs are engaged in exports (both within and outside EU borders) and very interested in policy initiatives that can further ease cross-border trade. The aim of the roundtable event is to facilitate a discussion on how the EU Digital Single Market initiative can help small online businesses.

Oliver Prothmann, president of the Bundesverband Onlinehandel e.V. and initiator of “Choice in e-Commerce” will be attending this event as well.

Following introductory remarks and a short overview of the attending SMEs and their business challenges, the floor will be opened for an informal and interactive discussion. We look forward to a fruitful debate ahead of the, soon to be published, report on the Digital Single Market Act.

A light lunch will be served outside the room before the discussion.
